- Description
The Rose is a limited edition piece that brings a little artistry to a working scissor. The rose-shaped tension screw at the pivot is its signature, set against a bright polished finish and a contoured 3D offset handle built for comfort through a full day of cutting.
A limited edition, hand-tested in Japan
Each pair is tested by an expert craftsperson in Japan before it ships, checked for edge, balance and smooth action so it performs to standard out of the box. As a limited edition, it is made in smaller numbers than the core range.
VG-10 steel and a sword-profile convex edge
VG-10 is a Japanese high-carbon stainless steel valued for edge retention and corrosion resistance, hardened here to around 60-61 HRC. The blade is ground with a subtle sword profile and a hand-honed convex edge, so it stays precise in the hand and cuts cleanly through wet or dry hair for slice cutting, point cutting and blunt cutting.
3D offset ergonomics
The 3D offset handle is contoured so the thumb and fingers sit in a natural, relaxed position, which lowers the wrist rotation and thumb strain that build up over a long shift. A finger rest helps steady longer sessions and lets you balance the scissor to your grip.
Choosing your size
The 5.5 inch suits precision and detail work and smaller hands. The 6.5 inch gives extra reach and leverage for all-round cutting, scissor-over-comb and barbering.
- Frequently asked questions
What makes this a limited edition?
It features a signature rose tension screw and is made in smaller numbers than the core range, with each pair hand-tested in Japan before it ships.
Is this scissor available for left-handed stylists?
This model is built as a right-handed scissor. If you need a true left-handed pair, contact our team before ordering and we will let you know the current options.
What techniques does it suit?
All-round cutting including slice cutting, point cutting, blunt cutting and scissor-over-comb, helped by the 3D offset handle for comfort.
How do I care for a convex edge?
Wipe the blades clean and dry after each client and add a drop of scissor oil at the pivot regularly. Convex edges should only be sharpened by a sharpener trained on convex blades, never on a flat-hone service.
Where is it made?
The Rose is made in Japan from Japanese VG-10 steel.
